John E. Curran, 90, died Sat evening at the Chelsea Soldiers Home after a brief illness. Born and raised in Presque Isle ME, he graduatd from Reading High School, lived in Wakefield for 30 years, before moving to Melrose in1970 and then back to Wakefield in 1991. He was a self-employed Locksmith, a member of the National Locksmith Assoc., the Melrose K of C, a Eucharistic Minister and Usher at St Marys Church for many years. Husband of Marjorie J. Midge ( Healey ) Curran. Father of the late Kathryn M. Curran. Beloved Step-father of Paul Morrissey & his wife Susan of Medford, Marilyn Morrissey & her husband Dr. James Ryan of Jamaica Plain, Thomas Morrissey of Merrimac, Arlene Gardino and her husband Leonard of Everett, Daniel Morrissey & his wife Linda of Dracut, David Morrissey & his wife Janice of CT., Philip Morrissey & his wife Carol of NH., James Morrissey of Melrose, and Carol Morrissey of Everett. Brother of the late Virginia Roberts, William Curran, Mary OMeara, Eileen Hunnerwell and Donald Curran. Uncle of Patricia Ladd, Maureen O Meara, Susan Delaney and Ann Bond. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W Foster St Melrose on Wed Aug 18th at 8 AM. Funeral Mass in St Marys Church, corner of Myrtle & Herbert Sts, Melrose at 9 AM. Relatives and friends invited.
