John M. Davey Jr. passed away at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on September 6, 2007. He was 50 years old. John was born and raised in Melrose, graduated from Melrose High School, Class of 1975. Mr. Davey has been a lifelong resident of Melrose. John worked as a truck driver for Deering Lumber in Melrose for several years and as a roofer for several years. He had a great sense of humor, loved football & the Patriots, was a big sports fan and enjoyed boating & fishing. Son of the Late John M. & Evelyn (Alkins) Davey. Brother of Daniel T. Davey & his wife Renee, Kelli P. Connelly & her husband Mike all of Melrose and Robert P. Davey of Saugus. Uncle of John, Erika, Kaitlin, Meghan, Michael & Robert. Funeral services will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Tues. Sept. 11th at 9AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Monday 4-8PM.
