John H. Dingle Sr. died after a long illness on Sunday April 21st at Bear Hill Nursing Center in Stoneham. John was born in Wakefield, raised in Wakefield, graduated from Wakefield High School and has lived most of his life in Melrose. He was the head of Public Relations Department at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital for over 15yrs. John was a former Alderman-at-Large for the City of Melrose during former Mayor Thomas Sullivan's tenure. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, the K of C in Melrose and a longtime member of Most Blessed Sacrament Church Choir in Wakefield. John was the husband of the late Anna Mae (Murphy) Dingle. Father of John H. Dingle Jr. & his wife Suzanne of Lynn and Peter James Dingle & his wife Patti of Salem NH. Also survived by 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Wed. April 24th at 9AM. Funeral mass in St. Mary's Church Herbert St. Melrose at 10AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Tues 4-8PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery Melrose.
