John F. Murphy passed away at his home in Melrose on Jan.11th at the age of 50. John was born in Malden, raised in Melrose and has been a lifelong resident. He graduated from St. Mary's Grammar School, Boston College High School Class of 1971 and attended Notre Dame College. John was a materials manager for Armatron International Inc. of Malden, formerly Melrose, for over 25 yrs. Mr. Murphy was an avid golfer, played in the Armatron Golf League at Mt. Hood Golf Course in Melrose and was a lifelong parishoner at St. Mary's Church in Melrose. John was the loving husband of Karen J. (Blakeley) Murphy. Devoted son of John J. & Helen M. (Connor) Murphy of Melrose. Dear brother of Thomas P. Murphy of Melrose, Joseph A. Murphy of Malden, Mary A. Bragel of NH, Theresa B. LeBrun of Stoneham, William G. Murphy of NH, Judi H. Kossuth of Mendon and Annette J. Murphy of Melrose. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Tues. Jan. 13th at 9AM. Funeral mass in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 10AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Monday 4-8PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery Melrose.
