John F. Grover passed away at the E.N. Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital, in Bedford on October 6th, he was 82. John was born and raised in Melrose and was a lifelong resident of Melrose, before moving to Bedford 25 years ago. He worked as a plasterer for the Como Company of Malden for many years and then for MJ Connolly & Sons of Melrose for 6 years. John entered the US Army in 1942 serving his country during WWII for over 3 years in Europe, Africa, Italy & France. He was a member of the VFW Post # 639 of Malden, enjoyed photography and had one of his prints hanging in the White House. John was the son of the late Herbert & Susan (Worth) Grove. Brother of the late Jennie Robertson, Mary Ann Doucette, Dorothy M. Schofield, Herbert Grover Jr., James Grover & Evelyn Joughin. Also survived by 19 nieces & nephews and many grand & great grand nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Friday October 8th at 11AM. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery Melrose. Visitation: None None
