John F. Limongelli passed away at the Wakefield Care and Rehab Center in Wakefield on May 16, 2014. He was 88 years of age. John was born in Boston on September 29, 1925 to the late Frank & Assunta (Tedesco) Limongelli. He was raised in the North End of Boston, graduated from Boston Latin High School, Class of 1944, from MIT, Class of 1948 and did his graduate studies at Northeastern University. Mr. Limongelli worked as an electrical engineer at Boston Edison for 40 years. After his retirement he taught at Northeastern University for several years. John lived in Melrose for over 50 years and the past 4 years in Wakefield, He was a member of the Melrose Lions Club and Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Wakefield for many years. Mr. Limongelli was a dedicated family man who cherished the times spent with his wife, children and grandchildren. John was the beloved husband of 63 years to Olga E. (DeMasi) Limongelli. Devoted father of Francis J. Limoncelli & his wife Nancy of Rye, NH, John A. Limongelli & his wife Paula of Londonderry, NH and Lisa O. Adragna & her husband Stephen of Wakefield. Grandfather of Steven, Katharine, Nicholas, Julia, Kristiana & John. Brother of Grace Rosselli & husband Dr. William Rosselli of Stoneham and Frank Limoncelli & wife Barbara of Bedford. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Tuesday, May 20th at 9AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St. Wakefield at 10AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday from 4:00-8:00PM. Interment at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
