Obituary

John Cregg Mannion passed away on Friday, March 26th at his childhood home in Melrose, MA. Cregg, as he was known, was a veteran, having served in the military police for the majority of his time of duty. Upon leaving the Army in the late 1960's, Cregg immediately became a part of the burgeoning Boston music scene – a scene he would be part of for the rest of his career as a musician, manager and most importantly – an audio engineer. Cregg was best known for his passion for quality sound, whether behind the board at a gig or in his house where his home stereos took on legendary proportions. Cregg was a beloved son, brother and uncle and will be missed, loved and remembered by his family and friends. Cregg was the beloved son of the late John & Marion (Cregg) Mannion. Caring brother of Judith M. Francesconi of Chelmsford. Cherished uncle of Alexander Francesconi & his wife Michelle of Bedford, Cara Childs & her husband Thomas of Maine and Suzanne Donovan & her husband John of Woburn. Also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives & friends. A Funeral Service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Wednesday, March 31st at 10AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to A.L.S. Association, Northern New England Chapter, 10 Ferry St., Suite 438, Concord, NH 03301.
