Obituary

John J. Jack Marchetti passed away on his birthday, at home, on May 3, 2006. He was 48. Jack was born in Chelsea, raised in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School. Mr. Marchetti entered the US Marine Corps after high school and served for 6 years in the Corps. He worked as a clerk for the US Post office for 12 years and then followed his passion for cooking. He worked as a chef at Brandanos Restaurant in Malden for many years and then worked at the Life Care Center in Stoneham for a few years. Besides his love for cooking, Jack enjoyed golfing, skiing, riding his snowmobile and playing darts. He also enjoyed summers & winters in Tamworth, NH. He was the Beloved son of Mary E. (Buckley) Marchetti of Melrose & the late Anthony V. Marchetti. Loving father of Joshua A. Marchetti of Woburn. Devoted brother of Maria Marchetti of Gorham, ME. Also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins & special friends Donna, Joanne, Debbie, Chris, Mike & Billy. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Monday May 8th, at 9AM. Funeral Mass in The Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St. Wakefield, at 10AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Sunday 2-6PM. Interment in Wyoming Cemetery Melrose. Memorial contributions may be made to Hallmark Health Hospice, 100 Hospital Rd. Malden 02148.
