McGuire, John P. "Jack", of Melrose, died peacefully on June 28, 2023.

Beloved husband of Mary (Maureen). Loving father, grandfather, brother, godfather, uncle, and friend. Formerly of South Boston. Former chemistry teacher of 30+ years, mostly in Stoneham.

Avid handball player, track star, coach, and lover of country music.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday evening, July 7th from 4-7 p.m. at Gately Funeral Home in Melrose at 79 W. Foster Street. Funeral mass will be held Saturday morning at 10:00 AM, July 8th at Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Wakefield. Burial will be in Kilkerrin Cemetery, Kilkerrin, County Galway, Ireland at a later date.

Expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Wakefield or to Wounded Warriors.
