John F. Nicolosi passed away at Massachuestts General Hospital April 6th at the age of 48. John was born in Boston, raised in Somerville & Everett, graduated from Everett High School in 1971 and Salem State College in 1976 with a degree in Math and a degree in music.He was listed in Who's Who of College Students in 1974 also had taken Theater Arts at MIT. John was a heart transplant recipient at Mass. General Hospital 15yrs ago in 1987. John lived in Natick for 6yrs and Wilmington the past 5yrs. He was an avid basketball player, coach and fan. John was a player/ coach in the Arlington Men's Basketball League at St. Aggies on the Barbarians Team. John coached youth basketball in Natick for three years and coached 6th & 7th graders in the Wilmington Youth Basketball Program. He also was a volunteer for the Special Olympics for 5yrs. John started his career as a substitute teacher in the Everett School System, he worked in the Trust Dept. at Bank Boston for 8yrs and worked as a Staff Accountant for grants and research at Boston University for 8yrs. John spent a couple of years as a Grants Manager for Whitehead BioMedical Research Institute, Brigham & Women's Hospital and Boston University Medical Center. He was currently the Grants Administrator and Auditor for Mass. Development in Boston the past 3yrs. John was the husband of Marilyn A. Daly Nicolosi. Son of Rose (Appolloni) Nicolosi of Everett and the late John Nicolosi. Brother of Jeanne Nicolosi of NY City, Frank Nicolosi of Everett and Michael Nicolosi of AZ. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Thurs. April 11th at 8:45AM. Funeral mass in St. Anthonys Church 38 Oakes St. Everett at 10AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Wed. 3-9PM. Memorial contributions may be made in Johns memory to N.E.
