John S. Sarno died suddenly at NE Medical Center in Boston Jan 4th at the age of 58. He was born in Stoneham, brought up in Malden, Graduated from Malden High School, Northeastern Univ. and received his masters from MIT. John lived in Melrose for 23yrs and the past 7yrs in Stoneham. He was a structural engineer working for General Electric Co., Harvard University, and the LeMessurier Co. of Cambridge. He was a longtime parishoner and usher of Incarnation Church in Melrose,a member of the St. Vincent De Paul Society, a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Boston Society of Civil Engineers and was a former baseball coach and cub scout leader pack 635 at Incarnation Church Melrose. Burial in Puritan Lawn Cemetery in Peabody. he was the husband of Frances M. (Oliveri) Sarno. Father of Stephen P. Sarno of Malden, David J. Sarno of CA and Cheryl A. Ringen of Malden. Son of Madeline (Izzo) Sarno of Malden and the late Jerald J. Sarno. Brother of Jerald P. Sarno of Newburyport and Alan J. Sarno of Westford. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Monday Jan. 8th at 9AM. Funeral mass in The Church of the Incarnation Church 425 Upham St. Melrose at 10 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Burial in Puritan Lawn Cemetery in Peabody.
