John J. Walsh passed away at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on January 5, 2006, he was 86. John was born and raised in Melrose, graduated from Malden Catholic High School and Wentworth Institute in Boston. Mr. Walsh was a lifelong resident of Melrose and a member of St. Marys Church. He worked as a technician and as the head of exhibits at the Museum of Science in Boston for over 25 years. John was the husband of 60 years to Mabel M. (Hurley) Walsh. Father of Kevin Walsh & his wife Carolyn of CA and Maureen Fiore of Melrose. Brother of Rose Walsh of IN and the late Margaret & Jean Walsh. Grandfather of Tracey DellaRusso & her husband Michael, John Campbell, Tim Campbell & his wife Nanci & Shawn Kirby. Great grandfather of Kaci & Shae Campbell, Nicholas Campbell & Michaela DellaRusso. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Monday Jan. 9th at 9AM. Funeral mass in St. Marys Church, Herbert St. Melrose at 10AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Sunday 2-4PM. Burial will be private.
