Joseph A. Chicoine, of Melrose, died peacefully on August 13, 2016 at the age of 72. Joseph was born in Somerville, MA on September 21, 1943 to Alfred and Mildred (Crowley) Chicoine. He was raised in Somerville and attended Somerville High School. Joseph enlisted in the United States Navy in 1960 and served his country honorably for four years. He worked as a self-employed plumber for many years. He loved his family very much and was happiest when he was spending time with family and friends. He will be greatly missed. Joseph was the beloved husband of Marsha E. (Marren) Chicoine of Melrose. Loving father of Danielle Auger, Dana Chicoine, and the late Joseph Chicoine, and daughter-in-law Stacey Chicoine, all of Melrose. Proud grandfather of Ashley Auger, Alissa Corso, William Chicoine, and Jacqlyn Chicoine. Survived by his brother Louis Daniel Chicoine of NH, and predeceased by his siblings Neil Chicoine, Alfred Chicoine, Leon Chicoine, and Mona Chicoine. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, August 16th, 2016 from 4 -8 PM at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 17th 2016 at 10 AM at the Gately Funeral Home. Interment at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Kaplan Hospice House or to the Jimmy Fund in Joseph's name.
