Joseph S. Adamo died after a long illness at Mass. General Hospital May 5th at the age of 59. Joe was born in Boston, raised in Ft. Lauderdale Florida and summered in Revere MA as a child. He lived in Saugus for 22yrs and Melrose the past 3yrs. Joseph was the founder and owner of Sebastian Insurance Company in Saugus for over 10yrs. He had also worked for Metropolital Life Insurance Co., John Hancock Life Insurance Co. for many years and had owned Heritage Carpet Co. in Saugus for several years. He was a member of the Saugus Lyons Club, enjoyed fishing and golfing. Joseph was the husband of Virginia (Gemellaro) Adamo. Father of Ellen M. Adamo of Metheun and Benjamin J. Adamo of Taunton. Son of Olga (Rizzo) Adamo of Fl and the late Sebastian Adamo. Brother of Cynthia Adamo of AZ, William S. Adamo of FL and Ronald C. Adamo of VA. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Friday May 10th at 9AM. Funeral mass in The Church of the Incarnation 425 Upham St. Melrose at 10AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Thurs. 2-4 & 7-9PM. Burial in Puritan Lawn Cemetery in Peabody.
