Joseph Edward Graham of Reading, formerly of Melrose, passed away on Friday, December 14, 2007 at the Edith Nourse Rogers VA Hospital of Bedford, MA. He was 81 years old. Born on April 23, 1926 in Cambridge, MA to the late William J. & Nora (Sullivan) Graham, he was raised in Charlestown and graduated from Charlestown High School, class of 1944. Joseph served in the Navy during WWII as a Seaman, First Class. Mr. Graham then worked as a service technician with TRW of Waltham for 30 years. He lived in Melrose for 23 years and then in Reading for over 30 years. He was a member of the Harold OYoung VFW Post #2394 of Melrose for over 40 years and served as a reserve police officer with Melrose for 9 years. Joseph enjoyed playing cards, fishing and special times with his wife, children, grandchildren & great grandchildren. He was the devoted husband of 55 years to Eileen C. (McLean) Graham, loving father of Kathleen J. Jacobson & her husband Ralph of Melrose, Joseph P. Graham of Burlington & William J. Graham of Reading. Cherished grandfather of 3 & great grandfather of 3. Caring brother of Mary Spagnolo & her late husband Emil of Melrose, John Graham & his late wife Margaret of Charlestown & the late William Graham & his wife Rita of Quincy. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Tues. Dec.18th at 8AM. Funeral Mass in St. Marys Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 9AM.
