Joseph J. Kolacz Sr. passed away at Kindred Hospital in Peabody, on Sept. 1st, at the age of 71. Joseph was born in Boston, raised in Boston, lived in Weymouth for 10 years and Melrose since 1979. Mr. Kolacz was a truck driver for Lee Disposal of Boston for several years and then for Grant Trucking for a number of years. He served in the US Army during Korean War, was an avid gun collector and enjoyed camping. Joseph was the husband of the late Carole A. (Ranelli) Kolacz & the late Carole M. (Fitzgerald) Kolacz. Father of Joseph J. Kolacz Jr. & his wife Debra, Scott Kolacz all of Melrose and the late Richard Kolacz. Son of Mary (Geniusz) Kolacz of Melrose & the late Martin Kolacz. Brother of Joanne & Bob Driscoll of Wareham. Grandfather of Nicholas & Brandon Kolacz and Diane Kelliher. Funeral service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Tuesday Sept. 6th at 10AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Monday 5-8PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery Melrose. US Army Korean War Veteran.
