Joseph V. Leary Sr. died at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on Sunday February 23rd at the age of 75. Joseph was born and raised in Melrose, graduated from St. Mary's Grammar School, Melrose High School Class of 1945 and was a lifelong resident. He worked for the First National Store's main office in Somerville for 24 years and then for A.W. Chesterton Company in Woburn as a quality control officer for 10 years. Joseph served in the US Navy during WWII. He was the beloved husband of Teresa A. ( Gilmartin ) Leary. Cherished father to Joseph V. Leary Jr. & his wife Shaye of Woburn, Elaine Reinold & her husband Daniel of Billerica, John Leary & his wife Brenda of Weymouth, Daniel Leary & his wife Kathleen of Wakefield and Michael Leary & his wife Robin of Wakefield. Loving grandfather to Joseph, Meghan, Michael, Patrick, Shannon, Shawn Leary, Heather, William, Bridget and David Reinold. Great grandfather to Emily Freelove. Brother of the late Marie Maxfield, Nancy Buckley and Thomas Leary. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Wed. Feb. 26th at 8AM.
