Joseph W. Oxley Jr, age 75, died on Tuesday on June 29th at the Glenridge Nursing Care Center in Medford, after a lengthy illness. Joseph was born in Wakefield, he was raised in Malden, graduated from Malden High and was a Malden resident until he moved to Melrose 30 years ago. Joseph served in the Army in Japan from 1948 to 1952. He was a truck driver for Cradock Heating Co. in Medford for 20 yrs and Keohan Heating Co. of Melrose for 6yrs. Joseph was a parishioner of St Marys Church and a member of Harold O. Young Post #2394 VFW. He was the devoted husband of the late Elizabeth L. (Keohan) Oxley. Loving father of Pamela Hogan-Rose & her husband Richard, Paul Oxley, Steven J. Oxley & his wife Barbara, Donna Penta & her husband John, all of Melrose, Robert A. Oxley & his wife Dawn of Springfield, VA and the late Sharon Chaplin. Cherished brother of Richard P. Oxley & his wife Catherine of Saugus. Also survived by 10 Grandchildren and 4 Great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Fri July_2nd at 8 AM. Funeral Mass in St Marys Church, corner of Myrtle & Herbert Sts, Melrose at 9 AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Thurs 4 to 8 PM. Burial will be in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
