Obituary

Josephine Frances Amoroso, of Melrose, died at the Massachusetts General Hospital on Nov. 17, 2012 at the age of 98. Josephine was born & raised in Dobbs Ferry, NY, resided in Everett until 1950 and the past 62 years in Melrose. She worked as a Supervisor in the stitching room for Bunny Bears in Everett & Young Years in East Boston for many years. Josephine also stitched parachutes during WWII. She was a Past Auxillary Commander for the D.A.V. in Saugus and enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, "A Good Joke" and traveling all over the country and Hawaii with her husband. Josephine loved her Boston bruins and Celtics since the 1940's. She was the beloved wife of the late Americo Amoroso. Caring sister of the late Annette Pelaggi, Eleanor Yamello, Catherine Carrabis, Lily Gattozzi and Marian Carello. Devoted aunt of Frances & Kevin Kelliher of Reading, Paul & Laureen Gattozzi of Saugus, Dr. William Carrabis of Norwood, Eleanor & Richard Skinner of Burlington, Patricia & John Lyons of NH, Joseph & Gail Yamello of ME, Betty Freedman of FL and Dr. Adriano Carello of Italy. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Tuesday Nov. 20th at 8AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Church, Herbert St., Melrose at 9AM. Relatives & friends respectfully. There are no visiting hours. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
