Josephine N. (Moynihan) Ceccherini passed away at the Massachusetts General Hospital on Wednesday, September 23, 2009. She was 86 years of age. Born in Malden on March 10, 1923 to the late Andrew & Margaret (Buckley) Moynihan, she was raised in Malden and graduated from Girls Catholic Grammar & High School. Mrs. Ceccherini has been a Melrose resident for over 40 years. She worked for the Telephone Company for 18 years and then as a secretary at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital for 15 years. Josephine was a member of St. Mary's Church & choir and then became a member of Incarnation Church in Melrose for many years. As a member of Incarnation Church, she sang in the choir, at weddings & funerals and worked as the wedding coordinator for many years. Mrs. Ceccherini was an avid reader visiting the Melrose Public Library on many occasions and always enjoyed her trips to Cape Cod with her family. Devoted wife of the late Robert J. Ceccherini. Loving mother of Lisa M. Ceccherini of Melrose, Robert M. Ceccherini & his wife Wildie of Malden and Carolyn L. Heron & her husband Francis of Upper Darby, PA. Grandmother of Stefan Ceccherini, Luke & Grace Heron. Sister of Katherine Moynihan of Medford and the late Mary Costa, Margaret Soules, Frederick & Andrew Moynihan. Also survived by several nieces, nephews & friends. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Monday, Sept. 28th at 9AM. Funeral Mass in The Church of the Incarnation, 425 Upham St. Melrose, at 10AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Sunday 2-6PM. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery in West Roxbury.
