Josephine L. (Rigano) Miele passed away in Malden on January 10, 2006, she was 84. Josephine was born in Cambridge, raised in Malden, graduated from Girls Catholic High School and was a member of the National Honors Society. Mrs. Miele lived most of her life in Malden and Melrose for a short time. She was homemaker, she worked as a secretary for Hallmark Cards for a few years and for the Malden Public Schools in the cafeteria for a few years. Josephine was a former member of St. Peters Church in Malden, a member of the Ladies Sodality at St. Peters, a member of the Malden Moose, the Girls Catholic Alumni Assoc. and the Italian American Club. Mrs Miele was the devoted wife of 61 years to Louis Paul Miele. Beloved mother of Terriann Hickey, Frances L. Marinelli & her husband John all of Melrose, Louis P. Miele Jr. & his wife Elizabeth of Weymouth & Joanne M. King & her husband Paul of Melrose. Loving sister of the late Rita Leccese, Marie DiGiovanni and Basil Rigano. Also survived by 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Friday Jan. 13th at 8AM. Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St. Malden, at 9AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Thurs. 4-8PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery Melrose.
