Josephine P. (Capone) Rotondi passed away at Woodbriar in Wilmington on Wednesday morning September 12, 2012. She was 92 years of age. Josephine was born in Winchester, MA on April 24, 1920 to the late Ambrose & Mary (Colucciello) Capone, she was raised in Winchester and graduated from Winchester High School. Mrs. Rotondi summered on the family farm in Walpole as a child and moved to Melrose in 1946 after marrying her husband Joseph. She worked as a secretary for Dr. Moses at the New England Memorial Hospital for 23 years all while raising her family of 4 children after her husband died in 1968. Josephine was a longtime and founding member of Incarnation Church, was a member of the Melrose Fish & Game Club as well as belonging to the Sons & Daughters of Italy. Mrs. Rotondi had a wonderful smile, an infectious laugh, was a great cook, loved to travel and always went to the Seabee Reunions on behalf of her late husband Joe. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and summering on Bow Lake in Strafford, NH since 1982. Josephine was the beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Rotondi. Loving mother of Brenda J. Turner & her husband Kevin of Chelmsford, Edward Rotondi & his wife Jean of Tewksbury, Karen Yetten & her husband Ned of Andover and Robert Rotondi & his wife Kathy of Melrose. Devoted grandmother of Ned Yetten & his wife Gabriella, Joey & Katie Rotondi and Robbie & Karla Rotondi. Great grandmother of Ned Joseph Yetten Jr. Loving sister of Clara Capone of Winchester and the late Paul & frank Capone. Also survived by numerous nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Saturday, September 15th, at 9:00AM. A Mass of Christian of Burial will be held at Incarnation Church, 425 Upham St. Melrose at 10:00AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday from 4:00-8:00PM.
