Josephine M. (Aleo) Voto passed away at Harborside at Pheasant Wood in Peterborough NH on Sept. 13th at the age of 88. Josephine was born in East Boston, raised in East Boston, lived on Burrell St. in Roxbury for 21 years and Melrose for over 30 years. She worked as a seamstress for the Silans Apron Factory in Boston for many years. Mrs. Voto was a personal care attendant for the Mystic Valley Elder Care Services for several years, she volunteered for the Red Cross, was a call maker for FISH and a member of St. Marys Church in Melrose. Josephine was the wife of the late Alfred Voto. Mother of Fredric A. Voto & his wife Helene of Broad Brook CT and the late Bonita Gallo. Sister of Salvatore Aleo of MI, Alexander Aleo of CT and Gloria Banyacski of Malden. Grandmother of Gina, Mathew, Michelle, Cherie, Mark & Elizabeth. Great grandmother of Alycia, Nicole, Brett, Marissa, Devin, Jenna, Connor & Danielle. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Thurs. Sept. 16th at 8AM. Funeral Mass in St. Marys Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 9AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Wed. 2-4 & 7-9PM.
