Joyce (Gutowski) Conaboy passed away at Massachusetts General Hospital, on Sunday, October 25, 2009 after complications following a heart attack. She was 72 years of age. Joyce was born in Scranton, PA on August 26, 1937 to the late Edward & Regina (Davide) Gutowski. She was raised in Scranton and graduated from West Side High School in Scranton. Mrs. Conaboy lived in Binghamton, NY for over 30 years and Melrose for the past 11 years. She was a homemaker who had previously worked for the Sales tax Division for the State of PA and for JC Penney in the drapery division. Joyce was a dedicated wife and mother who particularly treasured time spent with her grandchildren. She and her husband also loved going on cruises, visiting destinations ranging from the Caribbean to the Panama Canal to Poland. Mrs. Conaboy was an excellent cook and enjoyed going out to eat. Beloved wife of James R. Conaboy (Doorman at Gately Funeral Home). Loving mother of Kim Roberts & her husband Andy of Melrose. Devoted grandmother of Cameron & Carly Roberts. Loving sister of Patricia Allen of OK and the late Rita Kinback. Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Friday, October 30th, from 4:00-7:00PM. Followed by a funeral service Friday night at 7PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions in Joyce's name may be made to the Servant's Heart Food Pantry, in care of the Faith Evangelical Church, 200 Franklin St. Melrose, MA 02176.
