Joyce Peters, 91, of Melrose, passed away on November 24, 2021 surrounded by family. Joyce was born on January 18,1930 to the late Jones and Flora Colleran. She was the younger sister of the late Emilie Viney and the older sister of the late Camille Colleran. Joyce married the late James Peters on September 4, 1954, and together they raised four daughters, Susan, Georgine, Brenda and Joyce. After the passing of her husband in 1983, Joyce remained a resilient matriarch for her growing family. She was a caring mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother and instilled her family with her courageousness, strength, and remarkable sense of humor. Throughout her life, the simplest pleasures brought great joy to Joyce. She loved to bake fudge and other sweet treats, watch game shows and go to work at Lord and Taylor. Above all she loved to spend time with her family -- talking on the phone to her sisters, spending time with her daughters and babysitting her grandchildren. Just as Joyce did after the passing of her husband and sisters, her family will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest. Joyce is survived by her daughters Susan (Robert) Michaels, Georgine (Kenneth) Hoyle, Brenda (James Conley) Constantino and Joyce DeCristoforo; her grandchildren: Keri Schroeder, James Constantino, Sarah Michaels, Emily Bandouveres, Lindsey DeCristoforo, Sam Michaels, Victoria Hoyle; and her great grandchildren: Julia Morphew, Teresa Aylsworth and Aubrey Bandouveres. Funeral Services are private.
