Judith (Rattray) Harrison, of Nashua, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2025, at home surrounded by loved ones. She was 85.
Born December 8, 1939, and raised in Melrose Massachusetts. Judy was the beloved daughter of Alexander and Helen Rattray. She spent most of her life in Melrose before retiring to Fort Myers, FL.
She graduated from Melrose High School and Boston Dental. Judy began her professional career working as a Dental Assistant in general dentistry with Dr. Phillip Solomon. She went on to work for Orthodontist Dr. Robert Angorn. She concluded her career working alongside her husband John at their business, Knight & Harrison Fuel.
An avid boater and golfer, Judy cherished her time at the family camp at Lake Winnipesaukee. She and her husband Mickey enjoyed countless days on the water with family and friends. In retirement, they split time between Alton, New Hampshire, and Fort Myers, Florida. While living in Florida Judy was an enthusiastic golfer. She regularly participated in her community's women's league and proudly won the league trophy on several occasions. She made many friends that she traveled with, played cards, went to the casino and enjoyed life with them.
Judy was predeceased by her husband, John Thomas Harrison; her sister, Diane Hancox of Wilmington, MA; and her brothers, Donald Rattray of Melrose, MA, and David Rattray of Providence, RI.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: Michael of Melrose, MA, Jay and his wife Claudia of Warwick, NY; and Lesley Brady and her husband Scott of Nashua, NH. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: John Thomas, Shan, Graciela, Brayden Jay, Jennifer, Jessica, and her great-grandchild, Sadi.
Judy's warmth, kindness, and joyful presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 9:00AM-10:00AM, followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 10:00AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Interment to follow in Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose.
