Judith Mary Ockerman, born Judith Mary Rauch, died peacefully on August 10, 2008 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House of Danvers, MA. The daughter of the late Harwood Rauch and Marie (Murphy) Rauch, Judy was born February 19, 1939 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She Married Thorvald (Chuck) Charles Overn in September 1960. Chuck was a career officer in the US Air Force and a jet fighter pilot. They had one son, Charles Douglas, in November of 1961. Chuck was killed in a training accident in the spring of 1962. Judy married Gary Frauenholz in 1965 and they lived in California for several years then relocated to Pittsburgh in 1970, they divorced in 1980. Judy worked for several years as a real estate agent in the Shady Side area outside of Pittsburgh. In 1983 she married Paul Ockerman and moved to Southbury, Connecticut. Judy and Paul moved to Charleston, South Carolina in 1988. Judy was a tennis player and an avid golfer. She was also an active member of her community and a volunteer at the Hospice of Charleston. Through her caring and dedication she touched hundreds of lives. Judy is survived by her son Doug Frauenholz his wife Christine Kendall, her sister and brother-in-law Nancy and Bob Berenda, her brother and sister-in-law Dr. Douglas and Carol Rauch, her nieces and nephews, Blake, Brooke, and Brittany Brenner, Kevin and his wife Kate Rauch, Keith Rauch, her three step-daughters. Lou Anna Huehsen, Mary Fern Waechter her husband Skip, and Georgia Ockerman. Also her grandchildren Ryan and Molly Frauenholz, Miriam Jones, Amanda Waechter and Georganna Ockerman. Also her Great Grand Children Laura Fern and Carolina Jones. Judy was a wonderful friend, mother, wife, sister and devoted grandmother. There will be a memorial mass at Stella Maris Church, 1204 Middle St, Sullivans Island, SC, on Saturday, August 23rd at 11am. Interment in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
