Karen I. (O'Hara) Sinnott passed away at the Winchester Hospital, on January 24, 2014 at the age of 67. Karen was born in Wilkes Barre, PA on December 6, 1946 to the late James & Irene (Mehalic) O'Hara. Mrs. Sinnott came to Melrose as a young child, was raised in Melrose, graduated from Melrose High School, Class of 1964 and from Salem State College. Karen worked in customer service at the Reading Cooperative Bank in Reading for over 15 years. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who cherished the times spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Sinnott was a lifelong resident of Melrose, enjoyed spending time on Cape Cod, loved the beach and tending to her flower garden. She was the beloved wife of 44 years to Peter J. Sinnott. Loving mother of Gregory Sinnott & his wife Alyshia of Melrose, Andrew Sinnott & his wife Nicole of NJ and Daniel Sinnott of Melrose. Proud grandmother of Charlie, Maggie, Nate, Colin and Will. Cherished sister of James O'Hara of Pembroke, Michael O'Hara of CT, John O'Hara of Swampscott and the late Patricia Griffin. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Wednesday, January 29th from 8:30-10:30AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose at 11:00AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose.
