Karl A. Marinelli passed away suddenly at his home in Melrose, on Tuesday, October 6, 2009. He was 53 years of age. He was born in Melrose on November 25, 1955, raised in Melrose, graduated from St. Mary's Grammar School and Melrose High School, Class of 1973. Mr. Marinelli received his undergraduate and graduate degree from Northeastern University. Karl was a certified internal auditor and worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for many years. A lifelong resident of Melrose, he enjoyed music, trips to Las Vegas and was an avid Red Sox fan. Son of the late Anthony & Evelyn (Cottreau) Marinelli. Brother of Jack Marinelli & his wife Charlene of Melrose, Cheryl M. Marinelli & her husband Carl Baltrunas of CA and Gerard J. Marinelli of Melrose. Uncle of Julie Zanonni & her husband Ken of Andover and John Marinelli Jr. & his wife Lan of Wakefield. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Friday, October 9th at 9AM. A Mass of Christian Burial for Karl will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 10AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00PM.
