Katherine L. (Emperatrice) Tura passed away at Epoch Senior Healthcare in Melrose on August 5th at the age of 75. She was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, graduated from high school in Philadelphia and has been a resident of Melrose for the past 57 years. Mrs. Tura worked as an occupational therapist for the State of Massachusetts at the Hogan Berry Institute in Danvers for 25 years. She was the director of EMARC for several years and was very active helping the mentally handicapped through out her life. Katherine was the wife of the late Peter A. Tura. Mother of Peter C. Tura & his wife Louise of Peabody. Grandmother of Michele McGann of Fairhaven and Peter M. Tura of Maine. Great grandmother of Kathryn Elizabeth McGann. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Monday Aug. 9th at 9AM. Funeral Mass in St. Marys Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 10AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Sunday 4-8PM.
