Kathleen A. Abramo passed away at her home in Melrose on July 10, 2014 after a lengthy illness. She was only 48 years of age. Kathleen was born in Boston, raised in Winthrop and graduated from Winthrop High School, Class of 1983. Mrs. Abramo graduated from Burdette Business School in Boston and furthered her studies at Northeastern University. She worked as an executive secretary for several years at Air Water Technologies in Wakefield and then in sales at Paine Furniture in Burlington and Danvers. Kathleen loved to shop, was an excellent cook and enjoyed traveling to the Carribean, Europe and Greece with her husband John. Mrs. Abramo was the beloved wife of John L. Abramo. Cherished daughter of James & Mary Ann (Santangelo) Grayson and Donald Burke. Caring daughter-in-law of Marion (Hary) Abramo & her late husband Vincent. Loving sister-in-law of Vincent Abramo, Edith Taylor & her husband Leonard, Suzanne Crivelli & her husband John and Marion Abramo & her husband Donald Baumeister. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St, Melrose on Friday, August 8, 2014 at 11:30AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend.
