Kathleen (Buckley) Murphy passed away at Bear Hill Nursing Center in Stoneham on February 28, 2017. She was 95 years of age. Kathleen was born in Malden on June 29, 1921 to the late Francis & Mary (Lyons) Buckley, she was raised in Malden went to the Chevrus School in Malden and Malden High School. Kathleen has been a resident of Melrose for over 30 years. Mrs. Murphy was a homemaker who loved to do crossword puzzles, was a voracious reader, enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune and was very proud of her Irish heritage. Kathleen also enjoyed spending summers in Alton Bay New Hampshire, but most of all her family was first and foremost in her life. Mrs. Murphy was the beloved wife of the late Robert H. Murphy. Beloved mother of Kathleen L. Cadavid & her husband Emilio of Vero Beach, FL and Karen E. Boml & her husband Helmut of Hudson, NH. Beloved grandmother of Marybeth Madigan & her husband Jim, David & Derek Guthro, Gretchen Lordan & her husband Matthew, Brigitte Charette & her husband Gary and Erika Boml. Beloved great grandmother of Nathaniel & Owen, Samantha, Kathleen & Erin, Meghan & Molly. Loving sister of the late Vincent, Francis & Lawrence Buckley. Also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins, grand nieces, grand nephews and friends. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 from 8:30-10:00AM. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose at 10:30AM. Burial at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend.
