Kathleen M. (Sullivan) Emerson passed away at her home in Melrose on May 2, 2014, she was 66 years of age. Kathleen was born in Dorchester on January 14, 1948, raised in South Boston and graduated from St. Augustine's High School, Class of 1966. Mrs. Emerson has been a resident of Melrose for over 40 years and worked as a bookkeeper at Casey Florist in Melrose for many years. She loved cooking, was very talented with the crochet needles and enjoyed sharing her baked goodies with all her family, friends and coworkers. Kathleen liked traveling with her husband Floyd to Ireland and England and loved spending time in Poland Springs, Maine with her family and friends. Mrs. Emerson was the beloved wife of 45 years to Floyd R. Emerson. Devoted mother of Julieanne Emerson-Santoro & her husband Peter and Patrick Emerson & his wife Lisa. Loving grandmother of Liam, Clara, Sophie, Declan, Colin & Abbie. Sister of Deborah Greaves and husband Bob. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins & friends. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Tuesday May 6th from 4:00-8:00PM, followed by a Funeral Service on Wednesday at 10AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose.
