Obituary

Kathleen Elizabeth Lacasse passed away peacefully on her 78th birthday at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital surrounded by her loving and devoted family. Kathy who is Kaki to her grandchildren Kel to her nieces and nephews was the self-proclaimed matriarch of the family and will be missed by all her family, friends and former colleagues.

Kathy was born in Malden and attended Cheverus High School and Aquinas Secretarial school. She was the daughter of the late Bernard and Marguerite McLaughlin. She enjoyed 39 years of marriage to A. J. Gerard Lacasse and raised two wonderful daughters in Woburn. Kathy was the loving mother of Stefanie Becker and her husband Walter of Milford CT and Susan Lacasse of Malden. Kathy's world revolved around her incredibly devoted grandchildren, Christopher, Michael and Charlie Becker and Ava Lacasse. Kathy was also happiest when she was with her sisters. She was the sister of Marguerite (Bobbi) Zinck and her husband Eddie of Revere and Maryellen Salines and her husband John of Groton. She is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews, Sandy and Steven Goldstein of Hopedale, the late Stephen Zinck and husband Abner Malaret of Revere, Jennifer (Jenn-Jean) Brooks of Pepperell, Shannon and Josh Paul of Groton and her 7 great nieces and nephews.

Kathy was a very social woman. She enjoyed her time in Wolfeboro at her described summer estate as well as her time traveling with her grandchildren on many adventures. She loved to go out to lunch and dinner and her time with her many friends.

Funeral services have been entrusted to Gately Funeral Home, 79 W Foster St., Melrose and will be Wednesday, December 21, 2022. There will be visiting hours from 9-11 AM and a service immediately following at the funeral home at 11AM. Friends and family are respectfully welcome to attend.

At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers donations could be made in memory of her late husband Gerry Lacasse to the Development Office, Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, Oncology department, 585 Lebanon Street, Melrose, MA 02176.
