Kathleen Ann Lombard, 74, of Haverhill, Massachusetts passed away the evening of June 7th, 2023 at Aspen Hill Nursing home surrounded by her loved ones. She battled a diagnosis of dementia for many years before passing peacefully.

Kathleen was born on June 21, 1948 in Boston to her late parents John and Ellen Grogan. She was raised in East Boston with her 7 siblings, mother, and father. Kathleen went on to get married and have 4 kids, Jeffrey Lombard, Jeremy Lombard, Kathleen Balestracci, and Kristelle O'Rourke. She is survived by all 4 kids, 9 grandkids, and 5 of her sisters.

Kathleen lived and raised her kids all over the country with her husband, who served in the United States Navy. During this time, she enjoyed living in Hawaii and going to the beach often with her kids. As her kids got older, Kathleen settled down in Haverhill, Massachusetts to be closer to her sisters.

When Kathleen's grandchildren were born, they called her "Yaya", and she enjoyed watching them often and taking care of them. This included playing outside often, cooking for them frequently, and spending quality time with them. She enjoyed sharing a birthday with one of her grandsons, and celebrating together every year. She was very proud of her family, and loved spending time with her sisters as much as she could. She enjoyed being a caretaker for the majority of her life, and had great pride in taking care of her kids and grandkids.

Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster Street. Melrose on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 11:00AM at Gately Funeral Home. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Interment at Puritan Lawn Cemetery in Peabody

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alzheimer's Association fund. This is a horrible disease, and one that Kathleen fought until the very end.
