Kathleen M. (Brennan) Mahoney, of Saugus, formerly of Malden, died at home on June 2, 2014 at the age of 68. Kathleen was born in Boston, raised in Malden and a graduate of the Cheverus School in Malden and the University of Massachusetts in Boston with a degree in English. She resided most of her life in Malden and enjoyed baking, sewing, reading crocheting and making jewelry for everyone. Kathleen was very proud of all her children's accomplishments and would spend much of her time talking about her children & grandchildren. She had a great sense of humor, loved interior design and enjoyed making "things look good". She loved all kinds of animals and had many dogs throughout her life. She was the loving mother of Patrick Funiciello & his wife Silvia Tucci of Washington, D.C., Lisa Funiciello & her husband James Malarkey of Stoneham, Kelly Walsh & her husband Michael of Melrose and Mary (Katie) Clarke & her husband Colum of Hanover. Caring sister of Stanley Brennan & his wife Christine of Topsfield, Theresa Cronin of Lynn, Joseph Brennan & his wife Margaret of Stoneham and the late Patrick Brennan. Cherished grandmother of Riley, Jack, Emma, Tyler, Ella and Colum Jr. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. A funeral service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Friday, June 6th at 11AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours on Thursday from 4-8PM. Burial will be private.
