Obituary

Kathleen B. Russo passed away at her home in Everett on April 10, 2013 at the age of 84. Mrs. Russo was born in Harrisburg, PA, raised in Harrisburg and graduated from Harrisburg Catholic High School. She lived in Melrose for 6 years before moving to Everett in 1958 where she has been a longtime resident. Mrs. Russo was a homemaker for many years while raising her six children and then went on to be a caregiver at the Don Guanella Center in Chelsea for over 13 years, taking care of mentally handicapped children. Kathleen was very involved with her church, Our Lady of Grace in Everett; she was a member of the Ladies Sodality, a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the 1000 club and the Socialites group at church. Mrs. Russo loved spending time with her family, enjoyed trips across the United States, Bermuda, Canada, Ireland and Disney World. Kathleen enjoyed boating with her husband Larry and with her son Bob, loved the ocean and the beach. Mrs. Russo was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence J. "Larry" Russo. Loving mother of Lawrence J. Russo of Boston, Debra A. Russo of Melrose, Kathleen P. Ostroff of AZ, Donna M. Russo of Georgetown, Robert A. Russo of Everett and Marybeth Johnson & her husband Karl of Quincy. Cherished grandmother of Steven Myatt of CO, Jason Myatt & his wife Amy of ME, Olivia & Katie Ostroff of AZ, Robert A. II & Alexandria Russo both of Malden and Ethan & Andrew Johnson of Quincy. Proud great grandmother of Joshua Myatt of ME. Sister of the late Dorothy Dice, Arthur & Leonard Quigley. Sister-in-law of the late John & Sandy Russo, Caroline & John Cioffi, Nancy & Joe Lopez, Josephine & Carlo Guiffre, Mary Russo, Susan Russo and Tony & Angie Russo. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Visitation will be held at the Our Lady of Grace Church, 59 Nichols St. Everett, on Sunday, April 14th, from 4:00-8:00PM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10AM. Interment at the VA National Cemetery in Bourne will follow. Memorial contributions may be made in Kathleen's name to Our Lady of Grace Church, 59 Nichols St. Everett, MA 02149.
