Kenneth B. "Banker" Gooch passed away at the Woburn Nursing Center, on Sunday March 28, 2010 at the age of 68. Kenny was born in Stoneham, raised in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School, Class of 1959. Mr. Gooch has been a lifelong resident of Melrose. Mr. Gooch worked at the Jordan Marsh Company for several years and the as a skilled carpenter and tradesman for many years in Melrose. Kenny was known for his gentle soul, great smile and wonderful sense of humor. Mr. Gooch was a member of the Melrose Elks was affectionately known as "The Banker" and was a big Boston sports fan. He was a dedicate son who took wonderful care of his parents throughout their lives. Kenny was the devoted son of the late Leon O. Gooch Jr. and Veronica (Donovan) Gooch. Loving brother of June M. Materese of FL, Phyllis A. Sacco of FL, Robert J. Gooch of Winchester, Neal G. Gooch of Medford, Gail Coulombe of CA, Alan Gooch of Mississippi and the late Paul L. Gooch. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. A graveside service will be held at St. Patrick Cemetery, Elm St. Stoneham on Thursday, April 1st at 11AM. Relatives & friends invited.
