Kevin J. DeYoung passed away at Union Hospital in Lynn , on May 17th, at the age of 42. Kevin was born in Somerville, was raised in Melrose and has been a lifelong resident. He graduated from Melrose High School, Class of 1979, and graduated from Merrimack College in Andover. Kevin worked as an administrative assistant for the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston for several years and had also worked for Melrose-Wakefield Hospital during his college years. He played hockey and baseball while growing up in Melrose and was an avid Patriots fan. Kevin was the son of James G. & Margaret E. (Kelly) DeYoung of Melrose. Brother of James W. DeYoung & his wife Jean and Anna M. DeYoung all of Melrose. Uncle of Lauren, Shawn, Daniel and Melanie DeYoung all of Melrose. Also survived by several aunts, uncles & cousins. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose, on Wed. May 19th, at 10:30AM. Relatives and friends invited. There are no visiting hours. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery Melrose.
