Kevin H. Harrington, of Wakefield, formerly of Melrose, died peacefully on October 21, 2025, at the age of 81. He was born in Everett, MA, on March 24, 1944, to the late Eleanor (Lee) and Nelson J. Harrington. Kevin was raised in a big hockey family in Melrose. He played hockey for Melrose High School and continued to always love the sport; he even snuck into the old Boston Garden to catch Bruins games.

Kevin served in the National Guard during the Vietnam War. Following his service, he started his lifelong career working for his family business, Mass Coastal Seafood in Magnolia. He was a member of the Melrose VFW at Chipman Ave., a lifelong member of the Melrose Elks, and was a parishioner of Most Blessed Sacrament Church since 1973. Kevin married his late wife Joan, in 1968, and they would make countless memories together including their many trips to North Hampton and Cape Cod.

He loved all his friends and particularly loved skiing with them in Bartlett, NH. Kevin loved his yard, pool, and grill. Hosting his family and friends brought him great joy. He was a very generous, kind, and friendly man who was proud of his Irish heritage. He will be greatly missed.

Kevin was the beloved husband of the late Joan F. (Meehan) Harrington. Loving father of Shannon L. Harrington Cahill & her fiancé Sean M. Driscoll of Marblehead. Proud grandfather of Tatum Elizabeth Cahill and Kevin Seamus Cahill. Caring brother of Marcia McCarthy & her late husband Jake, Robert Harrington & his wife Carol, the late Lee Harrington & his late wife Nancy, and the late Roland Harrington & his wife Judy. Lifetime best friend of Jimmy Thirkell. He's also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose, on Monday, October 27, 2025, from 4:00–7:00PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield, on Tuesday, October 28th, 2025, at 10:30AM. Interment to follow at Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend.
