L. Dorothy ''Dot'' (Gorham) Howard died after a long illness at her home in Saugus Aug. 4th at the age of 86. Dot was born in Boston, raised in Lancaster and has been living in Saugus for over 60yrs. She was a housewife and very active with the Saugus Campfire Girls, the former Center United Methodist Church in Saugus and Saugus Senior Citizens serving as President from 1985 - 1990. Dot also summered in Bridgeton Maine for many years. She was the wife of George E. Howard. Mother of Dorothy G. Serozynsky & her husband Richard, Ruth M. Howard, and Susan H. Noonan & her husband Michael all of Saugus.Sister of Evelyn Silveira, Hazel Crossman both of Lancaster, Albert Gorham of CA, Herbert Gorham of Clinton and the late Ernest, Kenneth, Melvin, Edwin, Frank Gorham, Ruth Sawers and Marguerite Knoll. Also survived by 2 granddaughters, 1 grandson , 4 great granddaughters and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Saugus Assembly of God Church 9 Assembly Dr. Saugus on Thurs. Aug.9th at 11AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Burial in Riverside Cemetery Saugus. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army in care of Major Leo Lloyd 209 Broadway Saugus 01906.
