Larry J. Doucette passed away at his home in Wakefield on Saturday, October 19, 2013. He was 57 years of age. Larry was born and raised in Melrose, attended Melrose Schools and the Pinkerton Academy. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, was a longtime resident of Melrose before moving to Wakefield 18 years ago. Mr. Doucette was a proud member of the brick layers union local 3 and worked numerous construction jobs throughout Lynn and the North Shore. He loved taking trips to Maine, fishing, playing cribbage and riding his snowmobile over the entire state of Maine. Larry was the husband of Nancy E. (Messinger) Doucette. Father of Derek J. Doucette & his wife Stephina of Maine. Step Father of Anastasia Ferguson & her husband John of Maine and Jennifer MacKenzie of NH. Grandfather of Lillian Doucette and Trey & Joseph Ferguson. Brother of Linda J. Collins & her husband Bob of Georgia, Janice Doucette of North Reading, Marie P. Crowell & her husband Glenn of Melrose and the late Paul G. "Dewey" Doucette. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph's Church, Albion St. Wakefield on Thursday October 24th at 10AM. Interment will be private.
