Lauren E. Reczek-Mangini, of Melrose, died at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital on Nov. 17, 2013 at the age of 31. Lauren was born in Boston, raised in Winthrop and a graduate of Winthrop High School, where she played Soccer, Class of 2000. She went to attend Northeastern University & University of Mass. in Amherst. Lauren worked as a Special Education Teacher for the Fuse Program in Lexington. She was always trying to help others, volunteering for the Special Olympics & the Passion Plunge in Revere. She could be sarcastic, but always had a "Heart of Gold". Lauren loved reading, poetry, writing and enjoyed camping, crime TV, shopping, and the Beatles. She was the beloved wife of Nicholas D. Mangini of Melrose for 8 years. Cherished mother of the late Chloe Lorraine Mangini. Loving daughter of Robert & Lorraine (Moore) Reczek of Melrose. Caring sister of Kristen Cantin & her husband Jason of Melrose & Andrew Reczek, also of Melrose. Devoted granddaughter of Mary Reczek of Peabody & her late husband Walter & Florence Moore of Winthrop & her late husband William. Cherished "Auntie" of Gabriel, Logan, Quinn, Tahlia and Griffin. Lauren was also the "Mommy" to her Pug Pierogi Mangini. Also survived by many uncles, aunts, cousins & friends. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Friday, Nov. 22nd at 9AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Incarnation Church, 425 Upham St. Melrose, at 10AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday from 4:00-8:00PM. Interment will be private.
