Lawrence R. "Larry" Danieli passed away at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on Monday, March 22, 2010 at the age of 76. He was born in Boston on August 4, 1933 to the late Albert & Harriett (Stewart) Danieli. Larry was raised in Hyde park, graduated from Hyde Park High School and entered the US Air Force in 1957. Mr. Danieli served in the US Air Force during the Korean & Vietnam Wars. He has been a resident of Melrose for the past 50 years. Larry worked as a purchasing agent for the Transitron Company in Melrose for 15 years, for the Teradyne Corporation of NH & MA for 20 years and the for the AGFA Corporation, the makers of Bayer Aspirin, for several years. Mr. Danieli loved to work outside planting flowers, gardening and doing odd jobs around the house. He was a former member of the Saugus Bowling League, past president of the Melrose Lyons club and liked golfing at the Wenham Country Club. He was a dedicated grandfather who loved playing with his grandchildren. Beloved husband of Katherine A. "Kay" (Fay) Danieli. Loving father of Paul L. Danieli & his wife Holly and Barbara F. Gianatassio & her husband Mark all of Wilmington. Devoted grandfather of Jake & Jenna Danieli and Danielle & Nicole Gianatassio. Brother of Diane Petze & her husband Thomas of Sharon and the late Albert L. Danieli. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Friday March 26th, at 10AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Larry's memory at The Church of The Incarnation, 425 Upham St. Melrose, at 11AM. Relatives & friends invited.
