Obituary

Larry Lavoie, 70 , died at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital after being stricken at home saturday morning. Born in Cambridge, he was raised in Arlington, graduated from Arlington High class of 1950. Larry was a building contractor who formed his own company, L. J. Lavoie Contractor Inc., of Arlington, which he ran until he retired in 1994. He was a consultant for PreSeis and for the Town of Belmont in the construction of the Middle School. Larry had been a resident of Belmont for 30 yrs prior to moving to Melrose 10 months ago. He was the husband of Catherine T. 'Kay ' ( Curran ) Lavoie. Father of Kathy A. Wright & her husband Christian of Melrose and Lawrence J. Lavoice Jr. of Stoneham. Grandfather of Molly C. & Kathryn J. Wright. Brother-in-law of Ann & Michael Tarmey of Stoneham. Uncle of Jeep Tarmey of Stoneham and Michael Tarmey of Melrose. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W Foster St Melrose on Wed Sept 11 at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in the Church of the Incarnation 429 Upham St Melrose at 10 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Tues 4 - 8 PM. Burial will be in Wyoming Cemetery.
