Lena (Turco) Alleva passed away at Radius Health Care Center in Danvers, on October 9, 2006, she was 92. Lena was born and raised in Boston, attended Boston Schools and has been a resident of Melrose for the past 58 years. Mrs. Alleva worked as a stitcher in the garment industry, as an assembler at Transitron Company in Melrose, as a chocolate dipper at Russos Candy in Saugus and for Melrose-Wakefiled Hospital in the Pavilion. She was a longtime member of St. Marys Church in Melrose. Lena was the wife of the late Joseph V. Alleva. Mother of Marie E. Lynn of Groveland and James Joseph Alleva of N. Andover. Grandmother of Deborah M. Melonas & husband Michael of NH, Theresa M. Rauseo & husband George of Dracut, Michael J. Alleva & wife Mary of Haverhill and Katie A. Alleva of Tewksbury. Great grandmother of Demetra, Brandon, Nicholas, Candace, Anthony & Cody. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Friday, October 13th at 10:30AM. Funeral Mass in St. Marys Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 11AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Friday morning from 8:30-10:30AM. Interment in Wyoming Cemetery Melrose.
