Lena L. (Sevelitte) Ricci, of Melrose, formerly of Somerville and Medford, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2021, at the age of 89. She was born in Boston on April 16, 1932, to the late Romeo and Philippa (Orlando) Sevelitte. Lena was raised in the North End of Boston and later lived in Somerville and Medford for many years with her husband John and their son Anthony. She loved her regular visits with family and weekly card games. She also enjoyed taking trips to Foxwoods and Canada with family and friends. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing puzzles and crocheting. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. She was the beloved wife of the late John Ricci. Loving mother of Anthony Ricci and his wife Janet of Reading. Proud grandmother of Christopher and Justin Ricci. She was the sister of Louis Sevelitte; and was predeceased by her siblings Romeo Sevelitte, Joseph Sevelitte, and Phyllis Tentindo. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2021 from 9:00-11:00 AM at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home immediately following the visitation at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Burial will be private. Face masks will be required inside the funeral home for the visitation and funeral.
