Leo P. Ciovacco passed away at Bear Hill Nursing Center in Stoneham, on April 16th, at the age of 82. He was born in Boston, raised in Everett, attended Everett Schools and has been a resident of Wakefield the past 50 years. Leo served in the US Army Amphibious Division during WWII. He fought in France, Germany, Africa and the Philippines. Mr. Ciovacco was a self employed businessman, he started Malden Cash Register Company which he ran for several years and then continued in the cash register & adding machine field for over 60 years. His family was the most important part of Leo's life. He was the beloved husband of the late Mildred E. (Brescia) Ciovacco. Loving father of Laura M. DeCecca & her husband John of Melrose. Devoted brother of Theresa King of Medford, Thomas Ciovacco of Billerica and the late Anthony Ciovacco. Loving grandfather of John DeCecca Jr. & his wife Dina of Melrose and Amy Davis & her husband Chad of Marblehead. Loving great grandfather of Olivia & Ella DeCecca. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Sat. April 17th at 8AM. Funeral mass in The Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St. Wakefield, at 9AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 PM.
