Leo G. Gensler of Mentor, Ohio, formerly of Melrose, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2006 at the Lake East Hospital of Ohio. He was 75 years old.
Born & raised in Cooperstown, NY to the late Joseph & Anna (Kun) Gensler, he received his Masters Degree from the University of Illinois. He was employed as an electrical engineer with the United States Government. Leo served with the Marine Corp during the Korean War. He was the husband of the late Frances M. (Maguire) Gensler. Together, they shared more than 45 years of marriage. They met in Alaska and loved to travel. They lived in Melrose, Germany, Trinidad, Florida, California, New Jersey & 20 years in Poultney, Vermont where they owned & operated the Gensler Appliance Store. They then lived in Milford, N. H. and after Frances passed away in 2004, Leo moved to Ohio.
He was a brother of Marty Gensler & his wife Audrey of Florida, brother in law of James Maguire of Cape Cod , Thomas Maguire of Belmont, Ruth Doucette & Ann O'Brien, both of Melrose. Uncle of Larry Doucette & his wife Deborah of Melrose, Lorraine Rzepka & her husband Richard of Mentor, Ohio & great niece Ann Rzepka also of Mentor, Ohio. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces & grand nephews.
Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Thurs. Nov. 9th at 9AM. Funeral Mass in Most Blessed Sacrament Church 1155 Main St. Wakefield at 10AM. Family & friends invited.
