Obituary

Leo R. Pothier, of Melrose, died at the E.N. Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital on Sept 23, 2011 at the age of 83. Leo was born in Boston, raised in Medford and a graduated of Medford Vocational High School, Class of 1946. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp during WWII from 1946 -1948. After WWII , Leo resided in Melrose for most of his life and worked as a self employed Carpenter for many years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus & Incarnation Church in Melrose for many years and loved boating, bowling and a "Good Parade". Leo was the beloved husband of the late Mary P. (McLaughlin) Pothier. Loving father of Colleen M. Sully and David J. Pothier, both of Melrose. Cherished grandfather of Ashley M. Sully. Devoted brother of Betty Pothier of Melrose and the late Cathleen Pothier. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. A graveside service will be held with U.S. Marine Corp Military Honors at the Westview Cemetery in Lexington on Tuesday, Oct. 11th at 11:30AM. Relatives & friends invited. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Leo's name to the Rogers Memorial Veteran Hospital, Voluntary Services, 200 Spring Rd., Bedford, MA 01730.
